Ok so let's get some things out there. I'm gettin agitated with the system here for loosing one of my documents, it's caused me to have to basically miss the deadline again. Which bites because that's another month or two without work, and it's also making me leave the country to renew my visitors visa. But whatevs. So the holiday lasts a little longer than I thought it would. All good, just remain calm and in control. I'm going to reapply for my major documents and get them sent here so I can look for other work. And that's the plan. So not all smooth sailing, and contrary to popular belief, I didn't realise that I would actually miss working for a pay check. A constant holiday is slightly annoying.
In any case! There have been a few things that have been great here. I finally have a small group of friends that are quite cool. I have some good drinking experiences under my belt. I've been visited by a few NZer's!!!! Thanks for dropping by Elliot, Farz, Boram and Luke!!! It's been so great to see you all!!!
So the drinking scene here is, I'm not going to lie, pretty awesome. In fact I'm really tempted to return to my old 21 year old self and drink and smoke and party the night away here. It seems like a normal night here can stretch into the next morning, with the trains stopping between 12 and 5.30am you can either catch (an incredibly cheap) taxi home, OR when you get tired you and your buddies can rent a Karaoke room and chill and sing till it's time to crawl into the subway and get home. I have to recommend a few places for drinking - 1. HONGDAE - this is university territory, and although you might find it difficult to find an English speaker, you will have a good time, and you will still find many English speakers. I recommend Hongdae first because it is big, fun, and more Korean in feel. 2. SINCHON - this place is pretty cool too - if not a little smaller. I would say skip this on a quiet night, go when it's busy. 3. I FORGET - I went to this party somewhere near Wagasimni, and the bar we went to was pretty cool. I was not exactly coherent that night. Also, if you want a foeigner atmosphere, which after 3 months you can crave, then ITAEWON is the place.
In any case. This place is epic. And the friends I've made are genuinely cool. Especially the one that went home with some bruises (ice is dangerous here) haha.
Apart from that I've been a few more interesting places and seen some more interesting parts of Seoul and outside of Seoul.
